By the way (running update)....

I know I've been severely lacking in the whole "keeping my blog up-to-date" thing. So here's a photo from the Tobacco Road Marathon that I completed back in March (lucky #3!). And yes, I survived, short training schedule and all. Every weekend I increased my mileage: 7, 10, 14, 19, 26.2 (race day). Probably not the best for your body, but hey, it worked. And most surprisingly, I got my personal best of 3:52:12 (8:52/mile pace). The course was flat and mostly shaded, which sounds like a runner's dream, but to be honest, I kind of missed the hills. They keep things interesting! Either way, it was fabulous to have both sides of my family there (my parents and Ryan's parents). The course was ideal for spectators, so I had a cheering section throughout the entire race. Ryan's dad even made a video documenting my entire journey (very epically, may I add). Enjoy. : )

A haircut later, and three weeks of getting adjusted, our little Moose has become a comfortable member of the family.

Pink Glove Dance

This video has over 10 million plays on YouTube... and quite rightly. It's a video made by St. Vincent Medical Center in Portland, Oregon to promote breast cancer awareness. It's so amazing how these employees--doctors, cafeteria workers, business officers, janitors-- all came together for such an important cause... and they look so happy doing it!

I work at UNC-Chapel Hill at the Friday Center for Continuing Education (woot woot!), and we're about to celebrate the 90th birthday of our founder, William Friday. My department is responsible for making a massive card for it for all employees to sign; however, Ryan had a great idea to do something like this video instead. What a great way to genuinely get our message across to him of how much he's meant to the University and what an incredible milestone he's reached. Plus he gets to see the face of all the people that make up the heart of the Center. That's a bit more special than a plain old card with signatures!

So, enjoy the video. : ) Who doesn't love happy tears?

Laughing at My Desk Hilarious

I watched this movie "Run Fat Boy Run" when it came out on DVD, and for some reason (despite the less-than-phenomenal reviews), I loved it. I don't think I stopped laughing for 30 minutes after I watched this scene. Being a runner probably contributed to that fact, but I can't imagine that this wouldn't hit everyone's funny bone. Warning: I also have an unnerving love of physical comedy. Enjoy!

It's Gonna Be a Great Day!

Last Saturday night's SNL finally had another great digital short. For some reason I always favor the ones when Andy Samberg is singing. Why do we all love him so much? My guess is the schnoz. Bumpy nose people unite!

Here's a few more of my favorites so far...
